Downloading installer information to the target volume failed. #485

After formatting the drive, when I click on the Reinstall MacOS option and click continue, after a short while the error message "Downloading installer information to the target volume failed." is shown and the installation is interrupted. Does anyone know why this can happen? I'm installing on an Ubuntu 20.04 laptop. Thanks.

For me it was my AdGuard Home DNS blocker. Turned it off while installing and everything went fine from there.

I had the same problem because of VPN. I turned off VPN, then again clicked on Reinstall MacOS and everything was OK.
