When installed from .deb file package-converter_3.0.0.2-2_all.deb, package
manager
seems to fail to start in Xubuntu 9.10 x86_64 (all updates installed, also
fakeroot),
there is no error message when launched from GUI, however from terminal I
spotted
error "exec: 3: ./Package-Converter: not found", I did also install it again,
but
same result, also no error in installation are reported.
This is what locate finds:
/usr/bin/package-converter
/usr/share/package-converter
/usr/share/applications/package-converter.desktop
/usr/share/doc/package-converter
/usr/share/doc/package-converter/changelog.Debian
/usr/share/doc/package-converter/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/package-converter/copyright
/usr/share/icons/package-converter.png
/usr/share/package-converter/Package-Converter
/var/lib/dpkg/info/package-converter.copyright
/var/lib/dpkg/info/package-converter.list
/var/lib/dpkg/info/package-converter.postinst
/var/lib/dpkg/info/package-converter.postrm
/var/lib/dpkg/info/package-converter.rules
However my skills are not enough with Linux/Ubuntu to find out if in some file
there
would be wrong path and which file would be in question.
Don't know if this helps anything, but this is all I could find out about issue,
hopefully there is easy solution to this problem.

same issue, only this is what i receive as an error
/usr/share/package-converter/Package-Converter: error while loading shared
libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
package converter shows installed no matter where i look but simply will not
run at all...is there a more stable version that actually works? when i
installed it from the Gdebi, there was an error message saying an older more
stable version was available and it recommended that one instead, but it would
not let me back out of the install...so it installed, but wont work...not from
terminal, not from the menu...
