Add an open source license file in the repo root.

I'll just use Apache 2.0 like the others. Or MIT. Oh, this is not a library repo, so maybe GPL2. What do you think @juliaogris ? Are you happy with GPL2? These scripts are not imported into your own code, so is just like any other GPL program we use (all of GNU, etc).

I'm no sure re GPL, it's a turn-off for a few people (they are worried it will get them in trouble in an enterprise context). IMO it'd be better to use a more permissible license.

But it's up to you. They are your scripts.

I am a fan of the GPL (2). I understand the need for more permissive licenses for libraries and Go code in general, but we use plenty of programs in an enterprise context (as do many others), by using GNU tools. All the scripts are bash scripts so far, and while I cleaned up the awk in one script to remove GNU-isms for Mac, there is still a requirement on GPL to run these scripts anyway.

I have just convinced myself even more to use GPL2 (I don't like GPL3 - it is too long and not easily understood. GPL2 is great for understanding).

Fair enough, let's stand up for what we believe in :)
