In the asset map view, there's a way to copy assets to another phase. I tried doing this on the staging server and got a 500 error. Not sure if this is a staging problem only or what.
You can start by recreating the bug on your local server. If you're able to recreate it, see if the stack trace gives you an error message that's easy to solve.
