Segmentation fault while using 'EB' and 'P' #17

There is a file on my harddisk:

-rw-r--r--   1 tuxic users     67105 2023-11-05 17:50  Tecotest.txt

When I start teco like this teco which is an alias to teco-64 (system is a up-to-date Gentoo Linux, rolling release). and give this command:

EBTecotest.txt``

everything seems to be fine (no error message or any message at all). When giving

P``

teco crashes with:

Here are some additional info about this issue: After building teco with

make clean debug

, loading teco with gdb, run teco and did the above command sequence, I got this backtrace:

I will try to find what triggers the segfault but I cannot promise the success...

May be I found some additional traces, which may help. Attached to this mail there are two texts. "LoreIpsum.txt" and "Tecotest.txt". EBLoremIpsum.txt`` P`` Does not cause any segfaults or other hickups.

EBTecotest.txt`` P`` Results in: Fatal error double free or corruption (out) [1] 30149 segmentation fault teco-64

The binary of teco-64 was compiled as 64bit binary like so: ELF 64-bit LSB pie executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 3.2.0, stripped

The environment variables were set like so: echo $TECO_INIT /home/user/.config/teco-64/init.tec echo $TECO_LIBRARY /home/user/.config/teco-64/ echo $TECO_MEMORY (unset) echo $TECO_PROMP (unset)
