Hey guys. Thanks for all your help yesterday with recommendations for how to set up a schema.

I think that I've come up with something that will work for now, to start. Please review /RNC/exampleSchema.rnc and let me know if you have any feedback or questions. I'll probably at least rename this later, but try using that to associate with the XML code.

I've come up with a couple of online hypertext annotations for you guys to use with the markup. This one is pretty good for stuff like background information for your section. His notes on the section are pretty helpful, especially for knowing the locations where an episode/chapter is set and stuff like that. This one is a fairly good Ulysses hypertext for stuff like literary allusions. It doesn't have the whole book finished currently, but it does have the starting chapters. Just mouse over the highlighted text, identify the reference, and then tag our document in the same place. I think that this annotation might be the most helpful, just because it includes detailed information about location and is the most complete in terms of the references listed. You do have to go to a different page when you click on the linked hypertext, but I think that it's worth it especially because it lists maps with addresses in certain sections.

Take a look at those references. If you want, I could also scan the Gifford book I brought to the meeting, which I believe is the most authoritative annotation out there currently. Let me know if you have any questions.

For now, just start working on the Telemachiad.

Again, let me know if you have any issues. I know that these .txt files are pretty lengthy, but I was thinking that we might shoot for having them completed or mostly completed by our next team meeting, 2/12. That way we can be well on our way with Project Checkpoint 3 (#4) before it's due that Wednesday. Happy tagging and stay dry!
