In plugin errors: 'background.scripts' requires manifest version of 2 or lower.

On Chromium this can cause the whole plugin to not load.

I can't remember why I needed the background task - was to prompt for permissions, but not sure which system.

Maybe this is deliberate - it is for Firefox permissions seems needed
