Addressing https://github.com/fralau/mkdocs_macros_plugin/issues/71. Mimicking https://github.com/fralau/mkdocs_macros_plugin/commit/010c87d8b182dde460f8d714b43346aed0ae5985.

I closed this PR, because I've created it in an editor which trims trailing whitespace. That caused the PR to contain changes I did not intend to do. The https://github.com/fralau/mkdocs_macros_plugin/pull/77 is a replacement.
