Question about unused pins #1

Thank you very much for the provided information. It is very useful.

Do you know what is the purpose of the following pins defined in the printer.cfg but not actually used?

  1. pwc = PA3 (routed to a connector but not used)
  2. sound = PA13 (cannot find where it is connected)
  3. board_fan = PC4 (this signal is connected to a test pad on the motherboard but not used because the cooling fan is permanently connected to 24V)

Hi, For the sound (PA13) it's connected on a buzzer (only beep, no sound) PC4 is used in printer.cfg but as the controler fan is directly connected on 24V/GND it has no effect (may be with a new version of the board as seen in Q1 Pro… just expectation) As for PWC I have no real idea.This pin could be used but for this would be necessary to read the datasheet of STM32F401 (the STM32F402 on the board is identical apparently only used on chinese market)

Thank you for the information! I have X Smart 3 that uses the same board and I needed to upgrade it with active chamber heating and other stuff that Smart doesn't have. So, I was looking for unused pins and needed confirmation the one I selected are not used for something important in Max3 that I may want to have also. I found that forum and from there this repo but my writing skills in French are very limited to participate in discussions. So bad I found it too late. I already reversed engineered the board and did most of the mods you did. Thank you for sharing all that. It will help others to better understand and use these printers.
