hangs without showing ranger

Running :Ranger or similar just leaves vim hanging untill i press 'q', unable to get ranger to show

I can reproduce. I have a log file. BTW its really extensive sorry. https://gist.github.com/rmolin88/e69130d1623fd66cf6f4c34347e2ede2 Funny enough I can reproduce only with gvim. Not with vim, nvim, nvim-qt.

I don't support gvim/macvim, this plugin is made for vim/neovim only. At least until someone implement a way to get it work with. Currently it's for me out of the scope of what the plugin do.

What is the problem that causes gvim not to work? It doesn't hang, it just goes back to the existing buffer almost immediately. Terminal vim works.
