Flicker when playing video #316

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open any video file.
2. View it in full screen.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
At the beginning of the play, approximately in the center of a white
horizontal line on a couple of seconds. Later, the video flickers a couple
of seconds, this happens several times during playback

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
archlinux,gnome-mplayer 0.9.8-2, mplayer 29776-1, gtk2 2.18.3-2,  
xorg-server 1.7.1.901-2, nvidia 190.42-1

Please provide any additional information below.
Happens when using gl, gl2, x11, xv, xvmc. When using mplayer from the
terminal, no such problem.

I have the same specs. I have tried: gl, gl2, xv, vdpau, xvmc, X11 playback. All
playblack flickers at fullscreen

I´ve got the same problem with my Intel915GM-chipset (Asus EEE Pc 900) and 
Archlinux
(newest release). When i swith to fullscreen, the video is white-flickering 
while the
statusbar disappears - every time i use this bar.

297 has been fixed by gtk 2.18.4, can you please retest with this version
