Aliased Gadgets Missing from Directory #556

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Description of the bug/feature.
==================================
I recently had several gadgets aliased and none of them are now appearing
in the directory. The one I'm most concerned with has over 100,000 users.
The original URL for the gadget was:

http://jsierra.googlepages.com/googledictionary.xml

and it was aliased to:

http://geeklad.com/downloads/web-definitions.xml

I can no longer find the aliased gadget in the directory (searching for
GeekLad, dictionary, web definitions, etc. would bring up the gadget
before, but it no longer appear in results). Also, when I go to my author
page:

http://www.google.com/ig/directory?type=authors&url=geeklad@geeklad.com

the aliased gadgets do not appear. Although it appears to have disappeared
from the directory, the aliasing does appear to be working. When I add
from the old directory page, the URL of the XML file added to iGoogle is
from the new alias location.

PLEASE FILL OUT THE FOLLOWING FOR A BUG REPORT ONLY:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
======================================
1. Go to http://www.google.com/ig/directory
2. Search for GeekLad
3. The Web Definitions gadget does not appear in the results

What is the expected output?
============================
The Web Definitions gadget, Thesaurus gadget, and Unit Conversion gadget do
not appear in the results. Searching for keywords that previously would
bring up these gadget does not work either.

What is the actual output?
==========================
Only gadgets that I've written as GeekLad that I did not submit alias
requests for appear in the results.

Which browsers have you experienced this on?
============================================
This happens independent of browser type, but I tried it on Mozilla and
Chrome.

Which operating systems have you experienced this on?
=====================================================
This is also independent of OS, but I tried it on Linux and Windows XP.

I see the same thing for my latest alias requests (Issue #552), the 26th of
May. My
search's request to see if everything is ok is "widgetme". Only 2 gadgets
instead of
4 gadgets...
