Opening Balance in Financial Statements is wrong after update to v14.30.1 #36112

Information about bug

The opening balances in Trial Balance and Balance Sheet are wrong after the latest update. Last version that I know it was fine is v14.27.12

Hi @Solufyin,

It's working now in Trial Balance. But the Balance Sheet still has the same error.

This was the last commit that changed the balance sheet's logic a little (https://github.com/frappe/erpnext/releases/tag/v14.30.0). commit: https://github.com/frappe/erpnext/commit/ebf3c0173e0b43705f0d9a3e2a30d66f61ca44aa

@deepeshgarg007 Have you looked at this with regards to your commit https://github.com/frappe/erpnext/pull/34257 ?

It looks like this issue occurs if you have not posted Period Closing Vouchers for previous Fiscal Years, which causes the opening balances in the financial reports to be wrong, because the new Account Closing Balance Table doesn't have the correct entries.

We're not 100% sure, but to fix it, it looks like you have to:
