I ran into this problem too, but after some research I discovered that Ori is a
Unity Engine game, and x360ce does not currently support Unity games. So
unfortunately we are stuck with mouse/keyboard controls unless they decide to
release a patch with better controller support. :(

do x360ce creators hate unity or something? :/

same thing here, older version dll generated by x360ce.exe is completely not
responding, newer version from zip, with dinput8.dll, shows "Configuration file
version does not match x360ce version" when I start game, but still, not working

Hey,
now i can play with my gamepad the only issue is that i have replaced jump with
attack, but its ok.
Thats how i did it:
1. first run game with shift pushed button, find joystick button's and replace
all buttons to some buton which is not needed for the game (let's say RR).
2. download program like pinnacle or other program which allows you to bind
keyboard buttons like shift alt etc to your gamepad.
3. Check in ori controls menu what keyboard buttons you need and map it to your
gamepad buttons
4. you need to keep jumping button in the same place as it was earlier as it
does not change whatever we do, so for me pinnacle mapped button for example it
looks like it:
button 1 - spacebar
button 2- X
button 3 E
button 4 C
L1- up arrow
r1 shift
l2 nothing
r2 nothing
select button - ESC
start button - TAB
rest nothing.
after doing so you should have playable gamepad controller, just remember to
always start your game with shift button pressed.
If somone have some question just write here, i can give screenshots or better
explanation.
Have a nice game !

Yes, we hate unity.
Because it doesn't implement Xinput at all for its button or axis reading.

Hym, one Unity game seems to implement XInput properly - "Oddworld - New 'n'
Tasty" (with latest patch) but I not tested it with x360ce yet.
