This seems to happen with several of speedlinks rumble capable controllers.

Anything I can do since it only happens in Lords of Shadow?

It makes a weird sound like I turn on speakers when it locks up and when I
close it via task manager
So I uninstalled sound drivers and let windows install the basic driver
still freezes
I should be writing this to MercurySteam I suppose but they wouldn't listen to
me because I'm using x360ce I'll most likely get a reply like "something
something We don't support 3rd party controller emulators something something"

you'll just have to delete the ffb dll for the control from the registry.

Suffering from the exact same issue, anyone made any progress on this, or at
least an explanation how to permanently dissable Force Feedback would be
usefull, since at this point i dont realy care about FF, just want the game to
be playable.

rename xinput1_3.dll to something elese such as xinput1_3.dll.bak
this will disable x360ce.exe from loading
then try to play the game via keyboard , yes keyboard.
Once you see the save process icon apear , exit the game and re-enable the
x360ce.exe again.
Don't let the giant spider caugth you again.
Or , do nothing , just let the spider poisonus you and kill it quickly.

Ya idea of failing the QTE just occurred to me today
I know how to disable x360ce temporarily, I like reporting stuff and giving
feedback to help developers
Funny thing is I played tons of games with x360ce with this controller and it's
that one and only game always freezing in one and only part

I got the same problem, but the game crashes not only at spider, but when every
single enemy in the game attacks you, it takes 20-30 hits to you before the
game freeze or crash to desktop. Using acme GA-05 but the drivers are from
ga-03 since ga-05 drivers doesn't support ffb even though the gamepad has ffb.

I tested these all with Dolphin and none of them froze the testing program:
Constant, Ramp Force, Square Wave, Sine Wave, Triangle Wave, Sawtooth Up Wave,
Sawtooth Down Wave, Spring, Damper, Inertia, Friction, CustomForce

I had this problem too, the solution that worked for me was to rename the
Folder "USB Vibration" under C:\Windows\USB Vibration to something else

Experiencing the exact same problem. Currently my way is not to finish that
mandatory QTE and let the spider bite Gabriel. Although it will take like half
of your health away and leave me poisoned, at least the game stays playable.
And this is the only mandatory spider QTE, after this when you are battling
with other spiders just keep distance to prevent this QTE from happening again

I was having this problem too with a PS2 Dualshock over a USB converter from
Radio Shack. I had no Windows\USB Vibration folder, so I just uninstalled the
driver. I don't really care about vibration feedback so that worked for me.
Gets through the spider quick action fine now.
