Official "advanced vrrpd" package in OpenWrt? #7

Closed pepe2k closed 9 years ago

Hello,

OpenWrt contains vrrpd (basic version) in old and not maintained anymore package repository [1], which means that this package is not compiled and available with official releases. Information about transition to a new package repository and new rules was posted on OpenWrt-Devel mailing list in June [2].

I would like to ask if you are interested in adding Advanced Vrrpd into official OpenWrt repository and become its maintainer? Some information about new package repository and maintain requirements may be found in official GitHub repository [3].

Regards, Piotr

Hello, Thank you for your proposal and your interest in Vrrpd Unfortunately,I have no time for maintain specific packages, except a personal (Debian) because I'm using it in my work. I already had this question about another Linux distribution but my answer was the same, I can't write code and maintain package for now, sorry.

But I'll be happy to help if someone is interested.

Regards Fred

I forgot, The unmaintained software DansGuardian is exactly in the same situation, we (the team) forked the project and packages are needed now https://github.com/e2guardian

You are welcome, I don't know if you are member of the Openwrt team ? But maybe you can ask if someone is interested in your mailing list.

pepe2k commented 9 years ago

No, I'm not a member of OpenWrt team, just regular user of OpenWrt and adv vrrpd.
