There's so many things that I interact with on a daily basis that I still don't know how to say in my target language. I don't really make it a mission to note what those things are and then learn them all, rather I hope I come across the word in Spanish and just remember it. It keeps the language learning process light and less of a chore that way, in my opinion. So I'm waiting for the door man to buzz me in when I read this little sign here and I realize this is how to say doorknob or knob, depending on the context. Funny thing is my wife, who grew up speaking Spanish at home, didn't know the word either. So we both learned something. It's easy for me to think of it as the word for grill, parilla, with an e after the p instead or an a. Now it's stuck and I really feel like I couldn't forget it if I tried. Read those signs people.
