Yes., if you have both the regular discord and discord canary installed & running (both desktop apps) at the same time, the application does only seem to want to connect into the canary version. If I close down the canary version, it will connect to the regular discord successfully, but if I open canary again it disconnects and attempts a connection to canary again.

I assume very few have both discords installed, a possible and easy solution could perhaps make the app remember which discord version you connected it to, and make it always reconnect to that one.
