Me and a friend with two Pockets running the 1.0A firmware tried to play multiplayer on two Kingdom Crusade carts, using the Analogue link cable. Following the manual's instructions, we were unable to get the "Computer vs Gameboy" option to flip into "Gameboy vs Gameboy", like the connection wasn't being registered.

This worked fine for me with one Pocket and one GBA SP. Make sure the switch on the cable is set to GB/C and it should work.
