Hi

I have used prime-indicator with nvidia-331 from the first day of ubuntu 14.04 with no issue.

today I updated nvidia driver to nvidia-340 with "xorg-edgers" ppa and after a reboot prime-indicator didn't start.

Now I'm trying to install it again but it says that it will remove nvidia-340 and will install nvidia-331.

one more thing: I also updated my Intel graphic driver with "intel graphic driver" before updating nvidia driver (maybe it helps you)

Did you managed to get prime-indicator work with nvidia-340?

Thank you.

Hi & YES I had used webupd8 ppa for installing it. (it was a problem with that ppa) http://www.webupd8.org/2014/01/prime-indicator-lets-you-quickly-switch.html

Just download the source from git and run its installation script. "setup.sh"

also you can run these commands: git clone https://github.com/beidl/prime-indicator.git cd prime-indicator chmod a+x setup.sh sudo ./setup.sh

If you upgrade intel driver using intel-graphics-installer then intel driver is the problem. This installer introduce new dkms and nvidia-340 doesn't support this. You should remove new intel driver and reinstall nvidia-340
