Cleaned up makefile and added first draft of instructions in README #68

Made a mockup before jumping to bed. I want some feedback on whether this is going in the direction we'd like.

We should still keep the original makefile somewhere of course. (Fredrik did mention in another issue that we should keep a branch from before the cleanup as a reference)
