Can not float drag handles

What is the browser version (if you know) from Help->About?

What steps will reproduce the problem? Please attach sample code if you
can.

-1. apply the "float:left" css style on a drag handle

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

-In all browsers float positioning can be achieved.
-However, in IE dragging does not work.

Do you have a workaround?

-Don't float drag handles
