Waypoints and Bonfires missing after latest update. #3630

Prior to the update I had completed all waypoints, bonfires and ziplines up until TicTacToe. After completing challenges in section 4. "Gear Up For Success" I noticed that a large amount of waypoints and bonfires had become "incomplete"(I've attached a screenshot below to show what I mean. ) and the solutions did not show up on my profile however I still had the points from those challenges (I'm currently at 305 after re-doing a challenge that became incomplete to try and re-create the bug).

I haven't been able to recreate the bug however I believe it's related to the new challenges being completed and overwriting previously completed challenges somehow.

I have the same issue. I had completed 100% of the waypoints and bonfires up to "binary agents". After completing the new first waypoint for the sake of having everything complete every bonfire disappeared from my profile and map. only "steamroller" (only bonfire i did this month) stayed. the waypoints seems to be somewhat complete on the map... its hard to tell because of the new stuff. but the waypoints before august also disappeared from my profile. before i completed the first waypoint today the profile did show everything correctly.

:+1: This tragedy happened to me too. :worried: Lost a lot of progress.

Hope this sorts out soon. My map is barren land now. It was really nice when there was greenery everywhere. :smiley:

I have the same issue too. I had completed 100% of the waypoints and bonfires (except http://freecodecamp.com/challenges/bonfire-no-repeats-please and http://freecodecamp.com/challenges/bonfire-friendly-date-ranges). After last update i lost my waypoints and bonfires. map profile

We figured out which code was causing this and are reverting it. If you have been affected by this, please reply to this thread. We will manually restore your database record to how it was before (from last night's database dump). Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for spotting and reporting this critical bug so quickly!

Hi. I think I have lost only 6 first basic bonfires (1-3) and (4-7). I don't see anything else. ! missing basic bonfires 1 2 3 5 6 7

I too lost all my Bonfires in Basic algorithm scripting, intermediate algorithm scripting and advanced algorithm scripting

Hi, I also lost the vast majority of my "HTML5 and CSS" waypoints and the "Responsive Design with Bootstrap" waypoints. Could you please restore these? Thank you!

Hi, I have lost records of the Basic Algorithm Scripting Bonfires 1-9 and lots of the earlier Waypoints too.

I have been affected by this also, notably the html/bootstrap and basic algorithms have disappeared.

I am still learning because of this issue, I just backed-up my work today on Bonfires to a GitHub repo using Visual Studio Code and GitHub Desktop :-) I completely understand that there will be glitches like this and have the greatest respect for the FCC Engineering team.

Hi guys, I had completed the sections for "HTML5 and CSS" and "Bootcamp" but they are only showing as approximately half full.

I lost most of my work last night when there were problems on the server. I think this is the 4th time this has happened with my account. My points number reflects over 300 while my map does not. I have been working at this for close to a year, if not over a year. And the issue was closed even though my map is not restored to where it should be.

Is anything happening about this problem? It's been a few days and my account still shows incomplete tasks I'd completed before the update.

I had this same problem. My progress was complete in sections and now it's mish mashed. Oddly, I'm Missing:

It's a whole lot that is missing and weirdly spotted, which seemed to actually drop my progression points, too. Any help would be amazing!

I lost some progress on the following sections:

HTML5 and CSS Responsive Design with Bootstrap Basic Algorithm Scripting

I had all three completed and now it is showing a mix of completed and not completed. If you could provide any help on this issue, it would be much appreciated.

We have gone through and appended an older version of you completedChallenges from before the updates to your current completedChallenges array. You will notice a lot of duplicates but you should see your progress on the map restored.

Thanks, @BerkeleyTrue . It didn't appear to make any change on my profile, though. :-( I was looking and, as of July 17th, everything was where it was and I took a break from working on FreeCodeCamp. When I came back it had changed and just recently was told that I could ask about getting it fixed. I really don't want to have to redo that much work.

Is there anything at all that can be done or am I just going to have to redo everything?

I have been completing some more bonfires (intermediate algorithm scripting) today but my code is not being saved. I'm currently making a copy of my solutions until this issue has been fixed.

There are no change on my map, most of my bonfires and my first waypoints are still missing. (Although I posted about it in a thread that had been closed: https://github.com/FreeCodeCamp/FreeCodeCamp/issues/3632, so maybe that's why :X)

@ribeirojpn We are aware of your situation. We have to go back to a further backup to restore your profile.

@Timelady7 @Rchua72 Since you had not commented in this thread we were not aware of your situation and did not restore your accounts. I have now restored your profile using the same process. You will notice a lot of duplicates.

@donniereese Your account was restored but from your comments it seems like you where not affect by same bug. Please send me a PM on Gitter and we can continue the discussion there and figure out what is going on.

@BerkeleyTrue Thanks for looking into this but I still cant view my code in the Map page, even though I've already completed them. Do you need me to list every waypoint and bonfires that have the missing source code? All I did was to write my code in Visual Studio and then after testing them, I would paste the code in the FreeCodeCamp editor

I have also been affected by the bug. I don't remember exactly what I have completed. I'm pretty sure it was all the basic waypoints and most of the early bonfires.

I have also been affected by this. However, I did go out of order. I started with basic javascript and then went back to the beginning. When I finished jQuery, it immediately removed my progress on Javascript.

RESOLVED: Originally I logged in with my gmail email.... and today I logged in with G+ using the same email... so my progress did not show (as pictured above)

I logged in using my email/Password and I can see my progress again.

Hello, I lost my progress also. Although the screen appears at my latest waypoint. (The road up to that point is all gone.) I tried signing in with GitHub and email (which ishow I originally signed up). Doesnt seem to matter. Please help!
