Not uploading zip files #289

Closed decorous-struck closed 4 years ago

I downloaded a document and a proposed order from PACER, but rather than doing it separately, I clicked the zip button, so they didn't get uploaded via RECAP. It looks like you know this is an issue, but I didn't see it mentioned on the RECAP site. If there had been a warning about this in the documentation, I might have known to do each one separately. I think it would be worth adding a sentence.

Hm, zips should be working actually. We just added that feature (it's possible the documentation is out of date). Can you share more details about which documents from which csae?

I had gotten an alert about the docket being updated, so the 68 Jun 5, 2020 Main Document Approve Consent Judgment line was definitely there, but the document wasn't there, so that's what I wanted.

I'm pretty sure the second line "Attachment 1 Proposed Order" wasn't there when I first looked at the docket, because I had thought that maybe the court was issuing a consent judgment, but I was confused by the "approve" part.

Then after I got the docs, the docket was updated with that second line, but that was all.

Entries from the RSS feed use abbreviated text and there is often (but not always) an implied "Motion to." Here it'd be «Motion to Approve Consent Judgment» or something like that.

Perhaps we should try to handle this more elegantly, although it is not clear how.

Looks like I missed really digesting this, but it is a valid bug and we've got code to fix it that should be ready soon. https://github.com/freelawproject/recap-chrome/pull/133

This will be fixed in the release I'm about to push. Thanks for filing this, @decorous-struck .
