Hello!
Setting up the synchronization of GRIMM and DEFIS wallets (XGM):
Do you have a full sync? I don't understand how you were mining.
What do you mean where the feasts are added? I added the correct IPs to the settings tab under peers, is that what you meant? Also, what is a centum and how do you calculate the amount of centums you need for the transaction? I'm assuming that's the "gas" required. About how long do transactions take to "send"? Mine keep saying pending or waiting for receiver. Also what are locked coins? Thank you so much for your help by the way!
Hi Zovi,
I think by "feasts", it should have read "peers". ARomarioA's method worked very well when I tested it on a new machine.
A centum in the context of XGM is 1/100,000,000 of one coin, i.e. 0.00000001 XGM. The same concept as the Satoshi in Bitcoin. So the GUI recommended transaction fee is 0.00000100 XGM.
If you are using a Windows machine, you can check on the connection status of your wallet in more detail by accessing the logs. You can copy and paste the relevant line below into the search bar next to the windows icon (bottom left of screen) assuming your wallet is stored in the standard location.
GRIMM: %AppData%\..\Local\Grimm Wallet Mainnet\logs
DEFIS (XGM): %AppData%\..\Local\XGM Wallet\logs
Regards, Phil
Tried everything above, and it still says either pending or waiting for receiver. After sending transactions, it disconnects and says node protocol error. I have been going a bit mad trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong. I've got tons of XGM mined, but no way to sell it. I get the Centums thing now, thank you for explaining it, but still cannot get the XGM to tradeogre. Thank you so much for all the help, seriously. Thank you.
Ah! Now I understand and I have had this problem myself several times.
DEFIS requires both the sender and receiver to have their wallets online and in sync for the transfer to go ahead. This is currently necessary because the amount being sent is obfuscated and the way the Unspent Transaction Output (U-TX-O) works, however in later versions it might be upgraded to allow one-side payments.
If the receiving side is not working correctly and you have a pending payment, then the sending wallet actually shows offline, and the updating message comes on and the little red wheel starts spinning. You can get back to the "green dot" by canceling the transfer in the "send" tab.
I just tried two deposits (one to TradeOgre and one to Hotbit) and both have gone through fine. I'm wondering if TradeOgre was lagging at the weekend? With Pirate coin going nuts ($50m volume per day, and 11,000 users online instead of the usual 1,8000) there were a lot of reports about slow deposits. With most coins, this is probably not such a problem as TO's node will catch up, but with DEFIS it will block the transfer.
There is one other problem I experience with Coin Payments, with it not accepting coins from certain addresses, but it would from others. However, it's probably worth just trying to send again this morning now the strain on TO is dying down (or try to send Hotbit 20 coins if you have an account).
Good luck, Phil
First of all, thank you so much for the swift replies. Secondly, I have resent my withdraw request about 45 times (lol) and as SOON as I send it from XGM wallet, my node goes offline. Would I have to open any ports or anything before I am able to send? Putting a few screenshots as well so you guys can see what I'm doing and dealing with here. BEFORE sending AFTER sending my settings
I'm not sure I'm the best qualified to comment on this, but did you change any settings in the Custom AssetChain Assets tab?
Mainnet is on block 1347071 right now and your node is only showing 1363. The maximum number of locked coins possible on Mainnet is 1800 (90 blocks x 20 XGM), where you are showing 9,000 (90 blocks x 100 coins). In fact, because you have the maximum possible 9,000 coins locked, it's fair to say you're the only one mining on whatever chain you are on. However, on Mainnet there is at least 3 other people mining (I'm one of them!).
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might have mined the coins on a parallel chain or something. If you were able to reach 112,000 in a relatively short space of time (theoretically 35 hours) then almost certainly it is testnet or some custom chain :(
Hi. I have the same issue. waiting for receiver. The same thing. who can help?
If you tried the instructions above and they didn't work, please try again using a different node. 51.83.3.42:12005 seems very reliable :)
should I add above mentioned in mining-peers add 51.83.3.42:12005. and the other peers shoul I delete, or they may stay, simply add your mentioned peer? thanks
thanks a lot , it shows updating mainnet. Would you please say, if any such issue, from where can I get working peers?
You're welcome, updating to mainnet is the result we are looking for :) Depending on the speed of your internet connection it might take between 30 minutes and several hours. You can keep the other peers on the list, it might not let you delete some of them. Internally the software gives a rating to each node, so the good nodes will rise to a high rating, and the not responding ones will fall to nothing (well, 1). Once the node is fully synchronised, the software will learn a list of active peers from the network and will reconnect to them each time you open the wallet, so it shouldn't be an issue again in the future.
Ultimately the hope is the developers will update the software and provide some new master nodes, removing the chance of the issue reoccuring.
ok. thanks a lot. You're the only one who solved this issue . Searched everywhere , but it is no use. Hope I can withdraw .
In fairness, it was ARomarioA who made the initial workaround, I just gave a different node address :) I'm really pleased you are getting sorted though. Transfers between other user wallets, Trade Ogre, and Coin Payments have all been tested recently. The last I saw, Hotbit was not working after they got hacked, I will open a support ticket if it doesn't come back up soon. I would steer clear of ViteX, it did not work for me last time :)
I see. thanks both of you, but you answered shortly, that is why special thanks to you. ViteX simply does not give deposit address, Hotbit no deposit , no withdraw. Stays only Tradeogre - hope Tradeogre will work out.
Hello, I've been mining XGM for a few days now and I'm not sure how to withdraw my XGM to another wallet. I'm trying to withdraw it to tradeogre and I've already input the address but it still says pending/waiting for receiver. I'm unsure if the gas prices are a factor and I've tried everything from 0 centum to 1000000 centum. No change.
