r39 fat: Covers problem info #135

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
0.Compile source from fat_ntfs branch
1.put covers, games, wiiflow on fat usb drive.
2.clear cache
3.boot wiiflow
4.scroll

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
ofc expect to see covers, but get snow (I know this is known issue)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r39 fat_ntfs

Please provide any additional information below.
Just wanted to help shed some info on this problem. If you clear the cache,
covers work until you look directly at them long enough for them to be
cached. (a second or so ofc)
The reflections ALWAYS work. And covers that are off to the sides which are
not center focus work fine.

Maybe calling the wrong cache function when in fat mode?

I have the same issue with r42. It was working fine with the stable build, but
after
upgrading I start getting this issue.

Same problem, same versions. Box covers made with other versions work fine.
I've looked
in code and found the main difference is in the fat.c code. from r25 to r28,
the __io_wiisd and __io_usbstorage calls were added. Any idea?

Question: I use cIOSx rev 19 on IOS57. Which one are you using?

Original comment by marc.lef...@gmail.com on 4 Apr 2010 at 1:22

Environment details:
Covers in a fat USB partition;
cIOSx rev 19 on IOS38 installed but I´m actually using r42_222.dol Hermes rev
5 also
on base 38.

r25 / cIOSx rev 19 on IOS38 working fine.
As a workaround I keep r25 on the same folder with a name different from
bool.dol and
I run it every time I want to download some covers.

It seems that this error is only on USB. I set my cache folder on my FAT32 SD
card and
the cover were OK. No corruption, only slow loading.

Yes, only on USB....

seems its maybe something with usbstorage.c (my guess from looking at the diff)

hi marc.leforestier,

I set the wiiflow.ini file to read SD:/wiiflow/cache. Create the directories on
the
SD. Then when I start wiiflow it gives a dump error message. Not sure why

it actually changed the size of the boxcovers to 1k. I have gone back to r25..
for now

@ viopek

Check you are creating the cache folder here:
SD:/apps/wiiflow/cache
and edit the SD:/apps/wiiflow/wiiflow.ini to point to that folder.
