ability to search a game #160

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

No one has mentioned the ability to search a game.
I absolutely love Wiiflow and don't really use USB Loader GX, but their
search function is soooo handy. If possible?
That would top off this great app.

I'll appreciate if this function could be released.

Great work. Thank you

I agree.
I think this ability is very useful.
I don't use usb loader gx because I don't like it but the ability to search a
game is cool.

I second this motion, especially for large game collections on external hard
drives.

Don't forget to include Googlesque autocompletion!

iam also someone with 800+ games, and it is pain to go from A to M. when
sliding, i cant see the names of the games, and also the cover loading makes it
slow, laggy and realy a pain.

i would like a search function and also a "Jump to Letter" function. then
wiiflow would be perfect :)

auto completion would be also nice.

i also would like to have some kind of wildcards, so i can search ABC* that
shows "ABC Bowling" and "ABC Ski" but not "My ABC teacher".

this may be combined with http://code.google.com/p/wiiflow/issues/detail?id=297

i.e. to search all games that support motion plus or more than 2 players.

no, this is to like search for a specific game. that would be like a
sorting/categorizing/filtering thing. I dont think they should be combined

if you have a sorting/filtering/searching thing and also auto completion, you
can just search for that specific game. if the search result only returns one,
wiiflow can jump into its closer view. i dont see why a search funktion that
may find multiple games should not be used to find a single game.

you can type "bowling" and get all bowling games, or you can type bowling and
choose one from the suggest list to get to that specific game.

I agree that the two features would prolly be used together, but I still think
they would have to be separate projects. like after you filter your game
collection, you can then type into search bar. I had an idea for what it could
look like that I drew up the other day. I'm no programmer so I dont know how
this would be made, but I have a few different ideas for a look of it. I
attatched a picture of the doodle. its just my initial drawing of my first
idea, I'll try to make a drawing of it in illustrator so it will look better.

I agree with david28227's idea. An alphabet search could also be included.
Have A-Z buttons on top of the screen and kind of "click" with the Wii cursor
to go to the first game that starts with that letter.

We wont be adding this, at least for a very long time. Its very easy to find
your games in wiiflow. Doesnt matter if you have every wii game possible, its
still easy to find them and switch the sortings and letter that the current
game starts with.

Its very easy to find your games in wiiflow => Categories is a first approach
but that's not true when you have hundred's !!

how about b+down or up and just go by letter and then b+right or b+left to go
by pages.

Ok you have a 'pseudo' search solution but you should share with me that it is
not very user friendly compare to an open text search, especially for children.
That's also could be cause to the fact I have a 'french' thinking of this
feature and because I use to work (my job) in software design. In addition, I
think that it is not a very big issue to develop...but that's a shame, I've no
time to help you!

ps : by reading this item comments, Im not alone to think to this feature!!

Thank you anyway.

Below reminder of my original issue 436 transfert here but not visible
[A new search feature (like Loader GX) will be very appreciated.

Big thanks to the team for your work that a very good job!

Very best regards

Eric, a user!]
