Add unit tests

For two reasons:

• stability, no doubt
• reported two unknown bugs recently, because there are no unit tests for nodejs environments alone

They've been on my mind, I half-setup another project already and when I have time I'll copy the conf and add tests for this one too.

Edit: also perhaps use the spec's own tests too, although those will be likely impossible to follow completely.
