Thank you for that input! I didn't know, that there is such an issue with some fritzboxes.
I'd prefer most the upstream solution via OpenWrt. If that mentioned PR is stuck, maybe @PolynomialDivision could give a second review on that. AFAICT he has developer access in OpenWrt now (or was that maybe for OpenWrt-packages only?)
My second choice would be, to provide a custom imagebuilder with that modified kernel. One could integrate them in the build-system pretty easily by only adjusting the download links.
Do you consider that an urgent issue? Programming that stuff for few routers, maybe only as interim solution, may not be worth it.

Would appreciate it - for brcm63xx_target there are 2 imagbuilder available: generic & smp

Its not that important - only affects 3 Fritzboxes (7320/30 have still LAN bugs) and some other xway_boxes that have to be firsttime_flashed via serial (not kiss).
Would be nice to have working Falter SMP images for theese 3Fritzboxes cause Falter seems to be in good condition - almost every basics are working :)
Think lets wait till https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/3946 gets merged and bump to next OpenWrt_LTS release.
openwrt/openwrt#3946 has been merged to master and is awaiting backport to 22.03 - Falter 1.3.0 will probably have it
@everloop2 check out Falter 1.3.0 which has been released a while ago :wave:
OpenWrt 19.07 still has SimultanousMultiProcessing disabled (think OpenWrt 21.02 too),

this affects: FritzBox 7320/30, 7312.. which have a ~2x400MHz 34Kc CPU. -> see:https://openwrt.org/docs/techref/hardware/soc/soc.lantiq -> ARX100 "AR9"
In single core mode boxes are pretty slow. Dual core mode custom builds of OpenWrt 19.07.x / Freifunk Berlin Firmware are working: -> see: https://wiki.freifunk-cottbus.de/firmware:downloads
