i.e.:

allow channel change?
list only networks in fitting channel?

we shouldn't allow a change of the channel, because it would disable the node ability to mesh with other nodes. The node should only list all wifis in the same channel.

it's not all that simple.. what about 5ghz routers? they could connect to the uplink via 5ghz and mesh via 2.4

There is no discussion ;) We have tokeep the channel. There are also Routers, which are 5GHz only. It is easier to change one's FritzBox that to change the change the channel in the whole mesh.
