Crash after first scan, will not scan again

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(note: this has not been tried to be reproduced, this is just what I did)
1. Install app, run server, connect to server, app brings up zxing scanner
2. scan barcode
3. zxing says found book
4. App crashes
5. When attempted to restart app, would be able to select server, but after 
that app was just a black screen with no feedback, and no response to button 
presses

Was reproduced when phone was restarted, error went away and app worked 
properly after the first crash

Ok I think revision 143 should fix this. I'm going to make some more changes 
and then post the new beta release.
