When I float Frescobaldi's tool-frames, they stay bound to the main-window and I don't have as much freedom of control over them as would be wanted for a tiling window manager (I use i3). What is lacking is the possibility to move them around as I please (even to other workspaces), to float them over the main window (if that's what I want) without it being swallowed by it. Everything that is possible with tiling, tabbing, stacking and floating capable wm.
The feature
What I wish is that there be a variable in Frescobaldi's settings, to enable/disable window-manager control over the floating frames. This feature could be disabled by default, since most people don't use tiling wm. But through it, anyone could choose to control Frescobaldi's tool-windows decorations and disposition as they please, to take full advantage of the capabilities of their own system, whatever that is.
This is a feature request.
