Data Package is a standard consisting of a set of simple yet extensible specifications to describe datasets, data files and tabular data. It is a data definition language (DDL) and data API that facilitates findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR) of data.
I am researching metadata standards for energy data to support the Alaska Center for Energy and Power in our quest for more reproducible research. I enjoy exploring https://fairsharing.org/ to see how different standards relate to one another.
I see that Data Package and Tabular Data Package are both included in this tool, but they are out of date and unclaimed. I think that this omission is unfortunate I've seen data packages implemented in new and active contexts (i.e. OEMetadata) and it would be nice to see the centrality of this schema reflected in the FAIRSharing tool.
To fix this, the maintainers of this project would have to create a login and claim those 2 records.
