i dont have it my friend but i have repeated reports that its working just fine... Even with bigger iso's (win7, win8.1). I think they need to use rufus...
But, the cdrom-sysfs entry is the thing that the patch adds. If you don't have it, then the patch has done nothing and won't allow people to switch between USB and CD-rom mode. From what I'm hearing it's only possible to run in CD-rom mode and Giant Jack isn't able to switch to USB mode. This is confirmed by the support email that shows that the /sys/class/android_usb/android0/f_mass_storage/lun/cdrom
isn't available, which makes it impossible for DriveDroid to switch to USB-mode.
Rufus is only useful if the phone can get into USB-mode, since it requires you to write to the drive, which is impossible with CD-rom mode.
Does the phone show up as USB or CDrom for you in Windows/MacOSX/Linux?
Giant Jack from XDA send me a support email through DriveDroid and it showed that the sysfs entry that the cdrom-patch adds wasn't there:
/sys/class/android_usb/android0/f_mass_storage/lun/cdrom
I've tried going through the code of this kernel, but couldn't find exactly why it wasn't there. Could you check whether you have that file on your phone and if not, do you know a bit more about the USB mechanism that is used on the Note4?
