mbtf0 reminds me this was a bug in 0.4.3 in which an extra invisible single-layer board was added to the sketch.

Say I'm design a PCB with two layers, and suddenly the application crashes. When loading the last save, or opening the backup, then it doesn't look like fritzing remembers that I was using two layers. It goes back to showing only one of the layers. This also hides the routes in the other layer. Also, when entering the options for the pcb, the PCB still has the option "two layers" selected. I then have to select "one layer", then "two layers" again. After this procedure, both layers appear.
