I cannot drag parts - all of them are surrounded by a red box.

Build: Latest - just downloaded today 9 Apr 24

Operating System: <Windows 11>

Steps to reproduce: Install Fritzing Go to Breadboard view Try and drag a part

I expect to get even a hint of value for my money

Good grief - noticed dragging wasn't working in other apps - rebooting Windows fixed the problem!
