The adapters just make using custom tags somewhat more convenient. In the model, they are represented as custom tags (which is also how they are represented in the GEDCOM files themselves). There is no mechanism at this time to auto-detect what dialog is in play. The parser knows which tags to expect because I went through the trouble of looking through the vendor docs to find out how they represent their custom data using custom tags, and wrote the adapters to do so.

Hi,
I found the Adapters but cannot find out how to use them. Are they only for writing GEDCOMs oder for reading, too? How does the parser know which dialect it reads? How does the parser know which tags to expect?
thanks
