bind(Service.class).to(ServiceImpl.class).in(Singleton.class); should be bind(Service.class).to(ServiceImpl.class).in(Scopes.SINGLETON);

Actually, in(Singleton.class) is the preferred mechanism. Note that Singleton.class refers to the scoping annotation for @Singleton.
