Just installed a v0.1 board with the latest vanilla PWM .202 firmware for the v0.1 board. This is on an NTSC breadbin. When the board is set to 8580 emulation, it seems to work flawlessly. If I change the emulation to 6581, the test SID file plays on the config screen fine, but I don't get sound from any other software after saving the configuration and rebooting. Am I missing a step, or is there any possible reason I may be overlooking?
Unrelated Question: If I'm playing a SID that was intended for the 6581, it should still play properly on the other SID type, even though it may sound a little different or the effects may vary a bit, correct?
I'm closing this issue -- as I suspect I may have some other things going on with this particular machine, so until I can rule those new symptoms out, this is probably a red herring.
