I just realized that Sketch is a vector program... If somebody can export PDF assets from Sketch, it should theoretically be openable in any of the other vector programs.
Okay, so I was easily able to export it as a pdf from a trial of Sketch and import it as expected. Things like symbols will have to be re-created / re-linked again to reduce the massive file size, and the artboards will need to be organized nicely, but it's very do-able.
If I ever get around to creating an optimized designer file I'll share it here... In the meantime I'm going to close this issue though.
Vector versions (i.e. Illustrator / Affinity Designer) of your PSD / Sketch assets would be a lovely addition to Design Blocks!
