The same also goes for Heat it thermostats. It would be much better to lower the temperature to a minumum (or e.g. to frost guard setting) than turning them off, as when they are turned off the displays is also off.

In fact, some of the supported heaters does not have onoff capabilities so that is the way it's already handled for some heaters. Thus such a change would unify the code and as such make it more maintainable, so it's probably a good idea (should probably be created a another ticket for it though as it's not relevant for the change in this ticket)

FYI @slasktrat, in version 0.20.20 you may now select to use temperatures instead of on/off to control all heating/cooling sources. (see ticket #234)
