GData API does not work with Windows 8 Metro apps #620

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a Metro app
2. Load the GData API
3. Compile

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it to compile, but instead I get the error "Cannot find type
System.ComponentModel.ExpandableObjectConverter in module System.dll". This is
because this namespace is removed from the .NET for Metro apps API.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
GData 2.1.0.0 with VS2012 and .NET 4.5 in Windows 8 RTM in a Metro style
project.

Please provide any additional information below.

I am facing same problem. Can we have GData compatible with metro app? If yes,
then when can we expect it?

@6 ehmm, we're not talking about 'G Data Total Security 2013', we're talking
about the Google Data API... Those two things are not related at all...

Nice to see Google "really" loves developers... One year and no fix? Thank you!

Just want to add another voice crying for a fix here... really disappointing
that it's been over a year and it's still not fixed.
