I figured I'd make good on my promise to contribute some money.

You should find that froggey's patreon contribution sum should have increased a little.

If you contribute via github sponsors, they will double your sum

I am trying to find this info, maybe outdated now. I had impression the doubling works for that project.

As far as I understand, froggey's GitHub Sponsors doubler is active until May 2021.

The inefficiency here is truly heartbreaking, please fix this!

I understand if froggey does not want to open higher tiers generally, but he could briefly open a 512$/month tier on GitHub Sponsors, let bootlicker use it, and then immediately retire it. The tier will remain available for him only until he stops pledging.

This would MORE THAN DOUBLE the money received at no additional cost to anyone! (Patreon charges fees, while GitHub Sponsors never charges any fees and there is also the doubler still active.)

Please do this before I completely lose my mind, thanks. ;P

Ah. Tragic indeed.

Seems to me they likely already do, though, since you're already on GitHub, and probably if you ever used Windows or anything else in their vast portfolio?

Well, I like to keep it to a minimum xD

Giving them funds from a bank account would be the last straw for me xD

Uh??? GitHub supports credit cards...

edit: Also, 200% of your donation would go directly to froggey, so this is not really "giving them funds"... They don't even take a cut, unlike Patreon.

personally, i'd rather pay it through some happier method than patreon or github.

when i have some more money to donate, i think i will do it directly, rather than through a platform.

anyway, i think we can both agree that Mezzano is an incredible project that we all wish to succeed.

I really don't understand how more than doubling your contribution for free is not happy, or how that would not help the project succeed even more, but whatever, I guess.
