allow to create directories for gallery pictures on the webserver. because searching for files on the server is nearly not possible now (as of the naming-convention). With separate directories for e.g. categories it would be much easier.

Open for reconsidering. This suggestion has some problems and interferes with other ideas:

changing categories? multiple categories?
store all img in database
store all image types in the same place and use file-hash as name
store image in datebased folders
