Thanks, but that is deliberate.
# Before using this file please make sure to:
#
# - replace /MyBB/ with your forum folder, e.g. / or /forum/
# - replace yoursite/MyBB with your forum URL
Not everyone has MyBB in the root folder of their domain, and this file is just an example you're supposed to adapt to your own situation.
Ok, i read this comment before, for me this is clear, but maybe for others they only change it at the rewritebase and not for the error page redirect.
Maybe it's a better idea to repeat this comment at this point?
I don't know if that would help at all. I think I know which thread you're coming from and they don't seem to be even trying to understand what they are doing.
In the end this is a piece of software meant for system administrator / webmaster. It's fine if you have never heard of .htaccess before, but then you have to take initiative to read up on it and learn and understand enough of it so you can apply and adapt a given example to your own site.
This plugin is already going great lengths to make it fool proof - there is a lot of documentation and examples available, and it even literally tells you the correct .htaccess rules in the Admin CP, so you only need to be able to follow instructions and copy paste - and then we get users who fail at even that.
No matter what you do, for some people it will never be enough.
fix the hardcoded base directory for error page
