Granular control of excluded items #134

There has been a problem with the way the Excluded from Flats feature works that I’ve been working around, but I thought I would tell you about it because it may become increasingly problematic. My workaround is a kludge.

From Pat: "Basically, the problem is that I am not able to edit the records one at a time to say Yes or No on that attribute. It doesn’t appear on the Order Detail window or in the Variety.

The only way I have found to edit them is by finding some range of them in Orders, then using Batch Update to do them all.

The problem is that sometimes (and probably increasingly in the future) I don’t want to do all of anything.

When a variety sells out (as is happening on the seed/bulb store) I go to the plant’s record and record a sellout Friday time and put in 0 for remain Friday and this makes it show up on the website as sold out. It also turns the Excluded from Flats from Y to N.

There were a couple of seeds that sold out but then had to be put back into stock because I forgot they had a reserve available - and getting them back to Y for excluded was difficult.

Just yesterday, we noticed that for some reason one of the lilies in perennials was not marked as Y for exclude, so it was available to Add to My List … the only way I could mark it Y was to search Lilium and then Batch Update all of them. But I wasn’t careful enough (I should have searched only Perennial Lilium or Lilium pot size = bulb, but I forgot there were also potted Lilium in Unusual)… so for a couple of days all of the Martagons were listed as not available to Add to My List. A customer just alerted us to this.

So what I’m saying is… can I get an edit but for that field on the Order Details window? Or is it somewhere else already?"
