SECAM and NICAM ? #83

Hi

I'm in France, and i try to use an external NICAM decoder (Philips PRN 500) and i receive only the mono audio (with two cannel combined). After many test, i have read on the manual (i know, RTFM) and i have seen that the decoder is for L Band.

I have tested with SECAM, but i do not receive NICAM (is there a way to verify ?) and with my VCR deck, i receive only mono signal. Is this normal ? Is there a way to force NICAM on SECAM L ?

NICAM is enabled by default in mode L unless you pass --nonicam. You may also need the --filter option as the video signal could interfere with the NICAM signal if it contains any high frequency components.

I will try that, thank you.

It's weird : i have no NICAM with my VHS deck and my NICAM decoder with SECAM L, and it works with another tuner (with PAL B).
