Is steel cable allowed for bracing? #660

We want to use steel cable to brace our lifting mechanism. Is this allowed for Rover Ruckus?

Steel cable (sometimes called steel rope) is COTS construction material and thus allowed. We have used it (sometimes wrapped in plastic) as lift cord in the past due to weights being lifted.
