fix for missing locales when deployed #235

Fix for compiled assets not having translations.

This should also be a fix for #242. However, I don't know if the js file is the proper place to initialize translations.

This is a blocker for me somehow. Could somebody double check that this is the right approach to fix #242 and #226?
