Snarl R5.1 Beta 2 Released!

Snarl R5.1 Beta 2 is now available from SourceForge. Here's just some of the improvements, modifications, and bug fixes you can expect to see.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A BETA. If you're deploying this over an existing installation, Snarl will attempt to create a backup of your settings file, but please make a backup manually first.

Release notes:

General

• Phat64-encoded icons were being ignored, now fixed
• Refreshed OSD "forwarded notification" emblem
• "Settings Updated" notification should appear less often
• "Settings Updated" notification icon swapped to system-info
• Trialling new System Tray icons
• Global Sticky Notifications setting now works
• New "Audio Player" forwarder will play a system sound or audio file

Management Console

• Can now specify custom host name to use when launching the management console
• Presence settings are now saved

GNTP

• Handling of the REGISTER message now supports Notification-Display-Name, Notification-Enabled, Notification-Icon and Application-Icon (URLs and x-growl-resource only)
• Responses now include the standard Response-Action header
• Responses now include standard generic (Origin-*) headers
• Response to NOTIFY now includes Notification-ID
• Now properly returns an error response if a NOTIFY request fails. If the error is anything other than UNKNOWN_APPLICATION or UNKNOWN_NOTIFICATION, the transport returns INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR and adds the custom field x-error-detail which will contain the specific Snarl error message
